Deyaar-Tamweel financing tie-up
Deyaar Development, the regional real estate company, and Tamweel, the UAE-based Islamic home finance provider, are jointly offering ready units at four Deyaar projects in Business Bay at an optimal flat rate – with no additional fees from either the developer or the finance provider.
UAE company lands Virgin contract
A UAE-based company has recently won a multi-million dollar contract with Virgin America to build a cabin service trainer, a top official said. Virgin America contracted Spatial Composite Solutions, a UAE manufacturer of crew training devices for the civil aviation industry, to design, build and install an Airbus A320 Cabin Service Trainer at Virgin America’s headquarters in Burlingame, California.
UAE minnow aims to become lending big fish
United Arab Bank, one of the UAE’s smallest lenders, has staked its claim in Abu Dhabi and is looking towards lending to a greater share of Emiratis as it expands its branch network in the year ahead.
IMF predicts steady 4% growth for UAE through to 2017
The UAE economy is expected to expand by an average of 4 per cent over the next six years as oil prices remain steady and private sector activity picks up, according to an IMF forecast.

Rezidor to open its fourth Radisson Blu hotel in Dubai Downtown
Rezidor is set to open its fourth Radisson Blu hotel in Dubai in early 2011, the Belgian hotel group announced on Monday. The Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Downtown, will include 220 rooms and will be located close to the Dubai Mall, the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Fountains and Souk Al Bahar.

The O14 development took over four years to build, and is one of the few projects to have been formally launched at the Business Bay development. The 27,870m2, 22-storey commercial tower features a unique 41cm-thick concrete façade perforated by 1,000 circular openings, and against a window wall enclosure.

Mauritius seeks cooperation with Dubai Airport Freezone
A delegation from the Republic of Mauritius visited Dubai Airport Freezone to seek cooperation and assistance with a planned 72 hectares air cargo logistics centre. “Like Dubai, we would like to develop Mauritius into an aviation hub to increase traffic and at the same time put more emphasis on air cargo. There are lots of similarities between Dubai and Mauritius in terms of population and business interests.” said Mr. Nanda Narrainen, Assistant Director of International Business Development of the Board of Investment (BOI) of the Republic of Mauritius.
